Songahm Taekwondo > Songahm Star
An integral part of Songahm Taekwondo is its forms. The Eternal Grand Master developed eighteen Songahm forms. Each Songahm form consists of all or almost all of the techniques a student must know for each specific rank.
The Songahm forms reinforce techniques for the white belt rank up to and including the 6th degree black belt rank. Since each Songahm form was developed using the techniques for the rank it represents, each form has its own unique path or pattern. These paths combine to form the Songahm Star.
This precise explanation of the design of the Songahm star is quoted, below, from the ATA website.

The "Songahm Star" is the pattern that is formed on the ground if all 18 forms of the Songahm system are completed. In a perfect Songahm Star, the distance from the center point of the star to the top point is nine feet ("feet" being the student's foot length). The total distance from the top point to the bottom point equals 18 feet, representing the number of forms in the Songahm system. |
